Jive Champs Categories - What are you up for?
Anyone attending Jive Champs will require a full Day Pass which includes the evening freestyle.
Jive Champs Day Pass
£37.50 up to 6th July
£39.50 from 7th July to competition day.

Evening Freestyle only - Anyone attending the 2 room evening party only (8pm to midnight) will require a Freestyle Only Ticket. (£15)
Competition Spectator Pass - This pass is for spectating the Championships only until 7pm from the upstairs viewing gallery. No freestyle dancing is allowed whilst wearing a Spectator wristband.
4 x Dance with a Stranger 'Lucky Dip' Competitions - Book as a Solo Dancer & we'll give you a Partner!
ALL COMERS
1. All Comers Lucky Dip :- This is a general freestyle and lottery type of competition and therefore is open to any dancer of any standard.
You can enter as many of the 4 Lucky Dip Competitions you are eligible for depending on your current level of dancing & age.
INTERMEDIATE
2. Intermediate Lucky Dip :-
This is a general freestyle and lottery type of competition and only open to any dancer of an Intermediate standard.
Modern Jive teachers, professional dancers or anyone who has competed at a level higher than Intermediate in any modern jive competition may not enter this section.
You can enter as many of the 4 Lucky Dip Competitions you are eligible for depending on your current level of dancing & age.
50+(SENIORs)
3. 50+ (Seniors) Lucky Dip :-
This is a general freestyle and lottery type of competition and only open to any dancer aged 50 and over.
Modern Jive teachers, professionals and any open level dancer may not enter this section.
You can enter as many of the 4 Lucky Dip Competitions you are eligible for depending on your current level of dancing & age.
ADVANCEd/OPEN
4. Advanced/Open Lucky Dip:-
This is a general freestyle and lottery type of competition and open to any dancer of an advanced level or higher.
Modern Jive teachers, professional dancers or anyone who has competed at an equivalent level may enter this section.
You can enter as many of the 4 Lucky Dip Competitions you are eligible for depending on your current level of dancing & age.
CATEGORY SECTION 1
£30 per category Plus your Day Pass Ticket
1. Intermediate MJ Category:- The Intermediate Modern Jive freestyle category is suitable for any dancer who feels that they have not yet reached an advanced level.
Modern Jive teachers, professionals and open level dancers may not enter this category (see rules for definition of teachers etc) The previous years JiveChamps winner must move up to the next level. Over a 12 month period - You may still enter the Intermediate category if you have won Intermediates at another competition provided you have not won 3 or more Intermediate titles.
2. Intermediate Smooth Category:- The Intermediate Smooth Jive freestyle category is suitable for any dancer who feels that they have not yet reached an advanced level.
Modern Jive teachers, professionals and open level dancers may not enter this category (see rules for definition of teachers etc.) Over a 12 month period - You may still enter the Intermediate category if you have won Intermediates at another competition provided you have not won 3 or more Intermediate Smooth Jive titles.
3. Advanced MJ Category:- The Advanced Modern Jive freestyle category is suitable for any dancer who feels that they have reached an Advanced level.
To make it fair for the advanced dancer, modern Jive teachers, professionals and open level dancers may not enter this category (see rules for definition of teachers etc). The previous years JiveChamps winner must also move up to the next level. Over a 12 month period - You may still enter the Advanced category if you have won Advanced at another competition provided you have not won 3 or more Advanced titles.
4. Advanced/Open Smooth Category:- The Advanced/Open Smooth Jive freestyle category is suitable for any dancer who feels that they have reached an Advanced or Open level. Teachers & professionals may enter this category.
5. The Junior Seniors:- The Junior Senior freestyle category is for the over 40s - there is no upper age limit. Please note that proof of age (in the form of photo ID) may be required on the day. Don't forget that as there is no upper age limit if you are a dancer over the age of 50 you can also enter "The 50+" category.
Modern Jive teachers, professionals and open level dancers may not enter this category (see rules for definition of teachers etc).
6. The 50+ category:- This Senior freestyle category is for the more mature dancers aged 50 and over. Please note that proof of age (in the form of photo ID) may be required on the day. Don't forget that any dancer in the 50+ category can also enter "The Junior Seniors".
Modern Jive teachers, professionals and open level dancers may not enter this category (see rules for definition of teachers etc).

7. Mind The Gap Category:- This is a general freestyle competition whereby the competing couples must have a minimum age gap of 20 years.
Modern Jive teachers, professionals and open level dancers may not enter this category (see rules for definition of teachers etc).
8. The 'Jive Masters' :- This is an open freestyle category in which we invite Teachers, Professionals and anyone who has won a major title to join us. Aerials are permitted but only 2 major aerials are permitted per round. Finalist will also compete in The 'Jive Jam' Showcase Final.

CATEGORY SECTION 2
ProAm
1. Dance with a Star…! (ProAm Couples):- Dance with a Star is our original version of the ProAm category. Couples will be judged as a couple and will consist of a Star (Pro) and an Amateur. 'Stars' are classed as any dance teacher or professional, or anyone who competes at an 'Advanced, Open or Masters' level (or equivalent) dancing with a NON-dance professional (the Amateur) who has also never been paid to teach or competed higher than intermediate level.
Dance with a Star - £30 per couple Plus your Day Pass Ticket
2. ProAm Leaders:- Only the 'Leaders' will be judged. Couples will consist of a Pro and an Amateur. Pro's are classed as any dance teacher or professional, or anyone who competes at an 'Advanced, Open or Masters' level (or equivalent) dancing with a NON-dance professional (the Amateur) who has also never been paid to teach or competed higher than intermediate level.
ProAm Leaders - £15 per Leader Entry Plus your Day Pass Ticket

CATEGORY SECTION 3
£30 per category Plus your Day Pass Ticket
1. Here comes the Girls:- This is a general freestyle competition and open to any dancer of any standard. Couples will consist of 2 female dancers. You are permitted to swap between dancing lead or follow during your competition track. This category is open to all.
2. Boys are Back in Town:- This is a general freestyle competition and open to any dancer of any standard. Couples will consist of 2 male dancers. You are permitted to swap between dancing lead and follow during your competition track. This category is open to all.
To guarantee that your chosen category will run on the day please note that we will need to have a minimum of 8 couples.
